WHO WE ARE:

Whangamata SLSC was officially formed on 1 December 1949, at this time we had only 6 Volunteer Lifeguards to patrol the beach.  We have come a long way since our inception and now boast a strong membership base and have some of the best club facilities within Surf Life Saving New Zealand, and we offer full time professional patrols during the peak summer period.

Trust Waikato Whangamata SLSC is committed to striving for excellence in providing the highest levels of professionalism to the public who use Whangamata's aquatic environment.

Whangamata SLSC constantly leads the way for other clubs in New Zealand. Did you know Whangamata was the first Surf Club in New Zealand to successfully revive a victim using a Heart Start Defibrillator (shock machine).
